James runs two specialist sales teams that are responsible for selling targeting across Microsoft Advertising. The core focus of his team is on the major targeting areas, including; Behavioural, Custom, Profile, Category and Custom Targeting solutions. In addition, he is also responsible for selling Direct Response (DR) solutions on the Microsoft Media Network.
Before this, James ran Product Marketing teams for Microsoft covering the launch of the Microsoft Media Network and was previously part of the team responsible for taking Microsoft adCenter to the search market.
Before working at Microsoft, James worked for a boutique search engine marketing firm called Inceptor who operates out of the UK and US. At Inceptor James was responsible for search strategies for both pre sales and post-sale customers. In addition to working in online advertising for over 10 years, James authored 'Search Marketing Strategies: A Marketers' Guide to Objective Driven Success from Search', written numerous articles both online and offline and has been part of the online marketing industry speaking circuit (including SES, ad-tech, DMA, SMX and MediaPost conferences) for over 8 years.
