Just to get some discussion going here about the MS/Yahoo merger...

1. Supposedly Yahoo search would be powered by the Bing engine.  So if I open 2 browser tabs - 1 for Bing, 1 for Yahoo - and type "widget" into each, will I get the exact same listing of results?

2. Will AC replace YSM as the single interface for PPC advertising?

3. If so, currently AC has 2 checkboxes: Search and Content.  Would it then have 4 choices: Bing Search, Bing Content, Yahoo Search, Yahoo Content?

Well, does anyone know if after this merger happens if AC would include the options (likely as checkboxes) to have your ads run also on Yahoo Search or Content?

(this might effectively render the YSM dashboard as moot, since AC is a much more mature tool)

OK, its official, they got the regulatory clearance, and we all got the email that mostly looks like this:

This part: (I've underlined 2 lines to highlight them)

How the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance benefits you
After the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance is implemented, you will:

  • Reach more potential customers: Search ad inventory from both the Yahoo! and Microsoft networks will be joined in a new, unified search marketplace powered by BingTM, with a combined audience of over 150 million searchers in the U.S.1
  • Save valuable time and effort: You’ll use a single platform—Microsoft adCenter—to manage your campaigns easier and faster. With just one buy your search ads will reach users on Bing, Yahoo!, and other premium partner sites and networks, such as The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, msnbc.com, FoxSports.com, Facebook, and Buy.com.

So I suppose soon we'll have Yahoo Search and Content networks as options within Adcenter, alongside the current Bing Search and Content networks?
