Hi everyone!  This may be dumb but I cannot find an option to change the software tabs into english.  I have an english version of excel 2007, but I live in France.  I can o,nly guess that the installation has identified the os as french and ip address as french and therefore installed a french version.

I wouls really prefer it in english_can anyone help?

Thanks

Ron

Hi Ron, your guess is right. Now for V5.5 it is by design. It is designed to install French version in the French OS.....

To use English version, you should install it in an English OS.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ron,

There is a workaround for this. Below are steps to change the MAI UI language back to English, but you will need to do it manually.

    1. Make sure Excel is not running
    2. open My Computer, type in C:\Documents and Settings\%localuser%\Local Settings\Apps\2.0 in the address bar (note that you need to replace the part in bold font to your windows user name)
    3. Press Ctrl+F to search for Files and Foloders
    4. Search for micr..vsto_*
    5. The search result should return a folder named like micr..vsto_0899ef0c070f3520_0006.0000_fa75537613ff78fc. Open that folder
    6. you will find a folder called FR there, rename that folder to FR_Backup
    7. Restart Excel, and the UI will appear in English

If you want to change back to French UI, just rename the folder back to FR.

    Thanks,

    Richard

Steps above are for Windows XP. If you are using Windows Vista, the folder path should be C:\Users\%localuser%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0 (you still need to replace the part in bold font with your windows user name)
