Hi,

This is my first post and the question is I would like to run some ads in Adcenter on the content network only.

However all the advice from Microsoft pages and various youtube videos etc see to refer to screenshots of options I cannot see and therefor choose Content network for existing ads or new ones.

http://community.microsoftadvertising.com/blogs/advertiser/archive/2008/08/28/microsoft-content-ads-faq.aspx

The only information I can find is that it may only be available in the US but this may be old info as it referred to Adcenter content network Beta. As I am in the UK does this mean I cannot select the content network and am restricted to the Search ads only? It would be usefule to have this info displayed on the ad setup page.

Im restricting my ads to USA only so dont see why I cant select content network as my ads are running in the US. seems a bit unfair to be penalised like this.

Thanks

Rob

Hello allonline,

Welcome to Microsoft Community Forums.

You are correct that the Content Network is US Only. You will not be able to see that feature base on your location.

I have taken your feedback and submitted on your behalf regarding the Content Network. Keep checking for updates on the forum posts and so forth for new release regarding Content Network.

Thank you,

Microsoft Advertising Support

Hi, I'm looking for some help on this. I'm in the US, but setting up an ad for a tourism business in Honduras. I am trying to turn off the content advertising - the default shows that it is enabled, and I don't get the option to turn it off. Can you tell me how to do this? Thanks!

    Hello VistaVerde,

Turn off Content Ads for entire campaigns

Turning off Content Ads distribution for entire campaigns means that your ads stop being displayed next to relevant content on the MSN network. Your ads are still displayed as Search Ads.
    Important
    • Turning off content distribution affects only existing ad groups in the campaigns that you select. Subsequent ad groups that you create are not affected. To learn how to turn off or turn on content distribution for existing and new ad groups in a campaign, see .
    • You cannot turn off content-network ads that use CPM pricing.
    1. Click the Campaigns tab.
    2. Select the check box next to each campaign for which you want to turn off content distribution.
    3. Click More, and then click Bulk edit.
    4. In the Campaign setting drop-down list, select Distribution to content network.
    5. Click Apply.
    Notes
    • If you do not select any campaigns, content distribution is turned off for the entire account.
    • To resume content distribution for existing ad groups in a campaign, you must turn it on individually for each ad group. There is currently no way to turn on content distribution in bulk for all ad groups in a campaign.
    • If your ad group is set for content distribution only and you turn it off, search distribution will be turned on and your keyword bids will be set to the default value $0.05. You must have one type of distribution turned on for each ad group. For information about how to stop running an ad group, see .
