Hey there!

Try making sure that your windows user has Admin access. adCenter Desktop requires Admin rights during install. Let me know if this doesn't work.

Hi there,

after I got the message if I wanted to upgrade MSN adCenter (which I did), I keep getting the "A fatal database error has occured. Please ...". I tried Abid's suggestion, have reinstalled everything 3 times and uninstalled Microsoft SQL 2008 and removed all the LocalStore files and those in the MAF directory.

I am running Vista Home Premium x64. Hope you can help! It used to work perfectly ...

Hi Stian,

This actually sounds like an adCenter Desktop Issue as the Ad Intelligence does not use SQL2008. The best thing to correct the issue is to ensure that you uninstall the any instance of SQL 2008 from your control panel and if there is an entry for the adCenter Desktop Tool (ACD) and remove it as well. Once you have verified that none of these are listed in your control panel, reboot your PC and then re-run the installer for the ACD.

Alternativly, you can install the prerequisits seperatly, then install the ACD. Below you will find the links for the files that are needed.

It seems that the service has not been started for the SQL. This is easily corrected through the Command Prompt.

• Goto "C:\Windows\System32\" and locate "cmd.exe"
• Right-Click on "cmd.exe" and select "Run as Aministrator"
• Enter this string: NET START MSSQL$ADCENTERDESKTOP and hit enter
• This will start the service that is required by the ACD
