I'm trying to log in (KSP server credentials) to the excel ad intelligence add-on and i get this Error:

"an error occurred when verifying security for this message"

I tried to change my password, it doesn't help.. i did a search and found this question comes up a lot in this forum but no one says how to fix this problem...

Please post a way to avoid this error because it's really annoying.. Microsoft created a tool, the least they can do is to make it work otherwise what's the point.

Hope someone can help us.

Thanks.

    Hi Clicx99,

Which version are you using? You can find it out in the About information.

    Thanks,

    Richard

    Nope, no progress...

I have no idea what to do.

Can some one please help us understand what the problem is and how to make is work...

It used to work fine a few weeks ago (when it worked on excel 2003).

    Thanks

    Hi Clicx99,

We are still investigating this login issue. This looks like an issue for specific accounts. We are blocked at the moment because KSP doesn't return that error message "an error occurred when verifying security for this message". To further look into this, can you please provide us with more detailed information?

    1. your login username

    2. the exact error message, a screenshot of the error would be great

Besides, are you able to log in to adCenter with your username and password? You may try it out at here: https://adcenter.microsoft.com/

Sorry for the inconveniences caused by this issue. We appreciate your patience very much.

    Thanks,

    Richard

Good news, we have identified the issue. This is caused by wrong Windows system time. Please correct the date and time in Windows and try again.

    Thanks,

    Richard

    Thanks for the reply,

I made sure my windows system time is correct according to my adcenter time settings (is that the time i should match?)

Yes, I am able to log in to my adcenter with no problems.

One more thing i just realized my cloud server is set to this address; https://ksp.microsoft.com/v5 and i can't change it - the text box is disabled... I saw same places recomend to change this address to a different one... Why can't I do that?

Anyway... after correcting the time - Guess what... Same error: "an error occurred when verifying security for this message"

Hope you'll be able to find a solution....

    thanks

    Hi Clicx99,

    Thanks for checking.

Your cloud server setting is correct. The latest version doesn't allow users to change that setting because we are merging connection points for simplicity. That should not be the root cause.

We are still trying to identify the problem. Will let you know if we find a clue.

    Thanks,

    Richard

We still suspect that it's caused by the time error. KSP cloud server is syncronized with GMT and may tolerant +-5 mins time error for login security checking. It doesn't matter what's the time zone you are in.

Therefore can you please double check your local time with GMT to see if the time error is more than 5 minutes. You may use the following site to do that.

    Sorry for the inconveniences.

    Thanks,

    Richard
