Grow your business by advertising on bing, MSN, Xbox, and more!
Hello,
I am a software developer and I have written app for other ad platforms. I reside in India and my understanding is that I can't sign-up for adCenter API since only a few dozen American developers can sign-up (pun intended) - can somebody confirm this?
Also, the beta status of API has kind of stuck. Will that ever change? What is the roadmap of this project and where can I keep getting updates? When you plan to open it for other countries, especially India? Will you again start a beta for other countries?

PS: Beta status for a couple of month shows laziness!
Hello samunplugged,
Thank you for your intrest in the API program. You are correct that is it still in BETA and it is only available by invitation only as of the moment.Unforinately as of the moment API is only available for testing, Not to say in the near future that could be different.
My Suggestion to you would be check the forums, and sign up for newletters from Microsoft adCenter. We are always updating and there are always posts of new and upcoming things.
Thank you,
MS adCenter Support
Hi Samunplugged,
Adcenterrep is correct that the API is still in beta. We understand there is broader interest in using the API and are working to accommodate more users. For announcements about the status and roadmap, you can subscribe to our API blog here:

Also, if you are an active adCenter user today with a track record of business via the platform, you may want to discuss your needs with your account representative for adCenter.

Hi,
I've been waiting for the adCenter API to come out of beta for 3 years now. I am a freelance programmer who specialises in building PPC Software and use the AdWords and YSM API's daily. I'm very keen to get started with the the adCenter API and learn how it all works but with my level of account spend I don't think it will be possible for me to get a key for the beta testing.
Many of my current customers have expressed an interest in using your API but I've had to tell them it's likely they won't be able to get a key and I've had to put workarounds in place. I feel that I'm missing out on a big chunk of important knowledge that has been blocked from me for many years now and I won't be able to best serve my customers when the adCenter API eventually comes out of beta.
Moreover, I've been getting concerned about the future of the YSM API over the last few months as I believe that eventually it will be depreciated and replaced with the adCenter one. That is probably a while away but time usually goes fast and I would rather have some knowledge of adCenter before having to migrate multiple applications to use a new API.
Given the importance to my business of myself keeping up to date with this technology, do you think it might be possible for me to get a key as a special case! I could then provide the same level of expertise to customers with your API as I have been with AdWords and YSM over the past four years. I might also be in a good position to do testing on the API given my closeness to the subject area.
Many Thanks,
Ewan Heming
Hi Ewan,
Thank you for the well considered post. The team has spent some time today discussing it. You are correct that we currently do not have a process for API users who are likely to be important customers, but are not already advertising in adCenter above our current criteria. The points you make are well taken, and we know there are other developers in your situation using the APIs for other systems and requesting access. It is a goal that we are working toward. I hope to have something more concrete to report in the near future. Meanwhile, if the team is interested in talking with you about your needs, can we arrange a call or meeting? You can send me an e-mail if you'd like via the forum.
-Thank you,
