Daily and Monthly Search Updates?

This question has suggested answer(s)

I'm not seeing any new data for daily search totals after November 2, 2011 in the Excel Ad Intelligence plugin.

Is this a bug? Will there be new updates soon?

  • Thanks for posting. I'm noticing the same thing. This is also the first time the Traffic tool is not showing any forecasted search data for traffic by month. The tool it reporting zero searches for October (which should be showing reported search totals by now), November and December. If anyone has any information on the problem and if/when it will be resolved, I would really appreciate it.

  • Hi all,

I have asked our Engineering team to look into this further. As soon as I hear back I will  provide you both an update in this forum.

    Thanks! :-)

  • Hello Ricky,

Any update on this issue with the Ad Intelligence for Excel plugin?

We have also run a comparison test between the AdCenter Desktop vs the Ad Intelligence for Excel plugin. We are seeig that there is often a LARGE difference between the searches reported in ACD and MAI.

Not sure how that can be possible if the results are based on actual searches.

    Here is an example:

Keyword: Microsoft / Month / Searches

    MAI:     July 2011 - 990310      August 2011 -   992501      Sept 2011 - 1088430

    ACD:    July 2011 - 1042417     August 2011 -  1051602    Sept 2011 - 1147933

We see the same with searches with far smaller results. How can there be such a significant difference in the results reported between the two platforms if they are both derived from the same search data?

  • Hey Doc,

We have submitted a ticket for our engineers to work on getting this resloved. As soon as I have an update I will follow-up in this thread.

Thank you for your patience :-)

  • Thanks Ricky. My primary concern is if the Excel plugin is no longer being supported.

  • Hey Doc,

You should be seeing data through 11/28 now.  The Excel plug-in is still supported.

Let me know if you are still experiencing any issues.

    Thanks! :-)

  • Hi Ricky,

Results in the AdCenter Excel plugin are still exactly the same as previously reported. The last day with a "pink" forecast is November 3rd, 2011. The last reported date in the daily results is October 31, 2011, but when the "Traffic By Month" report is run, October 2011 stills shows as 0.

No observable change that I can see.

  • Hi Ricky,

Anything new from the engineers on this? Where is new data through 11/28 being displayed?

I'm still getting the same results today. Most current version of the plugin on three different machines.

  • Hey Doc,

Unfortunately we our engineers are still working on this. I'll shoot them an e-mail and see how the progress is coming along.

    We appreciate your patience.

    Thanks!

    Ricky :-)

  • Hi Ricky,

It sounds like they originally told you it was working fine, when it observably wasn't - makes me question the engineer who gave you the faulty info.

Anything response from them other than "yeah, it's working fine". Because it still is not.

ETA? We rely on the accuracy of this data.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

  • Any update on this issue please?

  • Hey Doc,

We escalated this issue and solved the root cause but it will take up to three weeks for all data to be processed. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you for your patience. :-)

  • Hi Ricky,

Is this estimate three weeks from when they originally said all data through 11/28 would now be visible, or an estimated three weeks from today?

Also still curious about the significant difference in the past numbers reported in the plugin vs the desktop version.

  • Hi Doc,

It is three weeks from when the bug was discovered, so around December 21.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Thanks! :-)

  • Hi Ricky,

It looks like the October number have been 'finalized' ( they didn't change, they just appear in a regular cell, not a pink cell ) but November also shows finalized ( regular, not pink ) and shows 0 for all search terms for November, as well as projections for December, January and February.

Are the engineers still working this problem or is this the three week solution?
