Heads Up: Scheduled Maintenance for Microsoft Advertising adCenter on January 14th, 2012

  • Comments 2

On Saturday, January 14, 2012, adCenter, pubCenter, the adCenter API and the adCenter Desktop will be unavailable from approximately 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Pacific Time for routine system maintenance.  Additionally, please be aware that reporting will be delayed through 9:00 P.M., but you shouldn't notice any staleness in data beyond that point.

Though you will be unable to access your accounts during this time, please note that campaigns will continue to run normally and your ads will continue to serve.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Hi Tina.  I see the results of the routine system maintenance in AdCenter.  The new feature that sticks out to me is the Delivery status where many of my keywords are still eligible for search in my campaigns (thats the good news) but quite a few are now "below first page bid" (bad news bears).  Let me first say that AdCenter is 100x better than Adwords.  You have a good thing going.  You actually give small businesses a chance.  Don't mess it up.  Don't you guys see that you can actually BEAT Google if you quit copying them?  I really really really do not want you to copy them.  I want you to beat them.  I'm going to tell you how to beat them in one sentence.  If I'm bidding on phrases that no one else is bidding on, my ad should show.  Every.  Single.  Time.  It's not rocket science.  It's not that hard.  Show MORE ads, not LESS (first page bid limits are an action to show less ads).  You will make up the $ with more impressions and volumes of clicks.  It's sooo puzzling to me that your actions are to raise prices and show less ads.  Step back and think about it for a second.  Does that really make sense, other than that's what Google does?  I'm one of the people who thinks you can beat them, but you can't beat Google copying their every move.  I can promise you that.  Feel free to contact me.  I know what I'm talking about.

  • Hi Grant,

Thank you for your feedback... I'd like to put you in touch with our Customer and Partner Experience team so they can get in touch to gather more detail.  Can you please send an email to adcforumresponse@microsoft.com with an email address and/or phone number that I can pass along to them?

    Thanks! :)
