SMXSMMWhether you have two employees or two hundred, there’s no denying that marketing via social media channels offers a unique opportunity to not only get your message out to the digitally-connected masses, but to engage in direct conversations with your customers as well.  Those interactions are absolutely crucial to establishing trust, building loyalty and improving your products and services through the candid feedback you’ll gather through tweets, wall posts, blog comments and forum threads… but how do you go about getting your customers to have those conversations with you?  How do you inspire them to share your posts or retweet your links?  What are the key success factors in a contest or promotion via social channels?

Good questions… hopefully I’ll be able to share some answers next week!

If you haven’t already figured it out by that nifty graphic in the upper right, next week I’m going to be attending SMX Social Media Marketing with the dual purpose of both learning as much as I can about those areas that apply to my role as a Community Manager here at Microsoft Advertising, and to post about what I’m learning on the adCenter Blog so that those of you who can’t be there can benefit from that expert advice as well.

Are you planning on being at SMX Social Media Marketing too?  Leave a comment if so… see you there!
