Grow your business by advertising on bing, MSN, Xbox, and more!
Back in July, we announced that radius targeting for Bing and Yahoo! Search had gone live on both PC and mobile. Radius targeting allows you to target ads to users who are in a certain geographic location. Specifically, you can target ads to users in a 5-100 mile radius around your business, zip code or even latitude/longitude coordinates. You can do this for one location or multiple business locations. For multiple locations, using a bulk import makes it a lot faster.
Targeting your ads to users who are physically close to your business location can help increase ad relevancy, campaign efficiency and your return on investment. But don't take our word for it, check out this case study to see how it worked out for furniture retailer, RC Willey.
If you’d like to get started with radius targeting, follow the steps below.
1. Adding Business Locations
Note: If you already have business locations uploaded in adCenter, please skip to Setting up Radius Targeting below.
Step 1 – In Campaign view, click Manage your business locations.
Step 2 – In the business locations screen, you can manually input one business location at a time or upload an excel or CSV spreadsheet with multiple business locations.
2. Setting up Radius Targeting
Step 1 – In Campaign view, click to expand Locations.
Step 2 – Click Near a business or other location.
Step 3 – Check the business locations that you want to target (Note: You need to first enter in business locations under “manage my business locations”).
Step 4 – Set your target radius for each business location, the default is 30 miles. (Note: For best results, we recommend that you set a radius of at least 25 miles to reach a sufficiently large area).
Optional Step – You can view your target area by clicking on Map
Congratulations you have set up your radius targeted campaign!

Thanks for the post, Peter. The ability to bulk import geo targets is especially useful.
