Grow your business by advertising on bing, MSN, Xbox, and more!
This just in from the adCenter Team:
Along with our consistent efforts to increase relevance for your adCenter campaigns, we will be temporarily increasing the rate at which your sites will be crawled to 20 to 30qps. This is within the accepted standards for crawl rates, and is vital to continuing to provide the most relevant advertising experience possible. If you have any concerns with this increased rate, please contact your account management team as soon as possible.
Thanks!
The adCenter Team
You can also feel free to leave questions in the comments below and I’ll make sure they’re passed along.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming…
UPDATE #1 - 8/24: Just to be clear, this crawl rate increase is only applicable to the Microsoft AdCenter ad index crawler (adidxbot) and is crawling advertisers only. This does not apply to the Bing index crawler (msnbot). For more information on the Bing index crawler (msnbot), you can always visit our friends over in the Bing Community.
UPDATE #2 - 8/24: Only a small subset of adCenter advertisers were affected by this crawl rate increase, for more details, see the most recent post on this topic: Ad Relevance Improvement Follow Up: adidxbot Crawl Rate Increase NOT Across the Board.

Hi,
This was the most recent article that popped up per a search on MSNBOT, so I'll try here first. Over the past 2 days, msnbot-157-55-98-114.search.msn.com has crawled my site, via one of my AdCenter ad links, several hundred times a day. Is that normal? Per the article above, I might have expected adidxbot to be doing the crawling (but not that much), but not msnbot.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom,
Hmmm... unfortunately I don't know enough about bots to say what's normal behavior, but I forwarded this along to the Bing team as I believe they own the msnbot. I'll report back as soon as I hear from them.
