Grow your business by advertising on bing, MSN, Xbox, and more!
Given today's uncertain economic climate, getting the most out of your advertising dollars is more important than ever. One quick and easy way to keep tabs on your return-on-investment (ROI) is to implement conversion tracking in your adCenter campaigns.
If you're not familiar with conversion tracking, it's a fairly simple process that will let you know when a visitor to your site has made a purchase, signed up for a newsletter or taken any other desirable action that would tell you the click that brought them to your site was money well spent.
To turn conversion tracking on, click on the campaign where you'd like conversion tracking to be implemented, and then below the green “Select an ad group” headline, click on the blue "Edit campaign settings" link.
In the lower left-hand corner box, you'll see a checkbox labeled "Track conversions". Clicking this box will cause a conversion tracking script to appear:
Choose the web address prefix that's applicable to the web page that you want to track conversions on (http or https), i.e. the confirmation page that appears after someone has placed an order through your check-out or after signing up to receive more information about your products or services.
Copy this code and then implement it on whatever confirmation pages on your web site that you want to track. Now whenever a user who clicked on one of your adCenter ads arrives at that confirmation page, you'll have that information included in your adCenter conversion reporting.
In an effort to give you full control over determining what types of actions mean the most to you, adCenter offers the ability to count conversions by click, unique URL or both. For more detailed information and step-by-step instructions on implementing conversion tracking controls in your adCenter campaigns, take a look at Brendan Kitts’ post, adCenter Announces New Conversion Tracking Options, where you’ll also find a link to the Conversion Tracking Guide.

How on earth can you post information on conversion tracking when it hasn't worked for over two years? I have been an advertiser since Adcenter was in the beta stage. I have been treated poorly by MSN Adcenter and I am beyond frustrated.
Hi Ron,
I apologize that you've had a poor experience thus far, please send me a private message -- click on my name at the top of the post, then use the "private message" link under "Options" on the right hand side -- if you can supply me with your account number(s) and any pertinent information regarding what you'd like help with, I will find someone who will work with you to resolve the issues you're having.
Thank you,
Tina
