pubCenter Expands Internationally to Seven New Markets!

pubCenter Expands Internationally to Seven New Markets!

  • Comments 24

It is our priority to provide developers around the globe an opportunity to make money using the Microsoft Advertising Solution and today we are happy to announce we are expanding our solution into seven new countries in late February, 2012 (updated from previous communication): Denmark, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Mexico, Sweden, and Switzerland. Now, developers from nineteen countries (full list below) can make money by taking advantage of Microsoft’s Advertising solution for mobile developers.

Our solution includes ad controls that are built right into the Windows Phone SDK; combined with pubCenter’s self-serve sign-up, reporting and automated payouts, we ensure a seamless experience. After your app goes live in the marketplace and users start to use it, you can watch your revenue grow.

Developers will need to provide account information into pubCenter required for payment. Once advertising revenue reaches the minimum amount required for payout (see table below), and the developer has completed the steps necessary for payment, Microsoft will start sending money their way.

The Microsoft Advertising solution for Windows Phone apps has been shown to make more money for developers than other solutions in the market… up to 71% more in a recent study!

Here are three easy steps to get started:

  • Brazil, when ???

  • Are there any plans to bring pubCenter to Poland?

  • Is good to see efforts to expand the list of countries that can use Microsoft Ads... internationally... but why not Singapore? even india got it... Singapore is already being left behind in the release of 2nd generation Windows Phone... Flagship phones like HTC Titan and Samsung Focus S are not available here officially... unlike HTC's effort previous year in releasing 3 1st gen Windows Phone device in here, and Singapore is among the very few to launch it before US's official launch... we have lack of good devices, and now even lagging behind not having this for developers in Singapore? ...i am aware of other ad solutions for Windows Phone, but Microsoft offers the least trouble to implement it

  • Great! Thanks for expanding the monetization opportunity to more countries.

  • No South Africa? :(

  • Poland, please.

  • I tried to sign up a new Account, but Japan is not in the country list, what's wrong?

  • Hi, thanks a lot for this... Have been waiting since a really long time to hear this news...

  • I dont get new countries listed in the country dropdown. Anybody had any luck there? psupport did not respond.

  • Nothing for New Zealand, why?

  • @Wsoftvn - the article says they're expanding to those 7 new countries in late February... probably just need to wait another 4 weeks and it'll be there.

  • This is good news for developers in some currently unsupported countries.  Devs in supported countries would like to know when Microsoft will start getting more paid ad-inventory in countries other than the USA, UK, and Germany. ???

  • Thank you for the feedback. Let me try and answer the questions above:

Q: I tried to set up an account, except I don’t see the new countries listed in the pubCenter dropdown yet.

A: The countries marked NEW listed in the table above will be available in late February.  We will announce again once available.

Q: When will other countries be added?  What about Brazil, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Singapore, and South Africa?

A: We are working hard to support more countries and plan to share more information as we get closer to the release date.

    Q. I am in a supported country and would like to know - when will Microsoft start getting more paid ad-inventory in more countries?

    A. We are working to activate additional demand for these territories, as we know how important these markets are to developers worldwide.

Q: I am a developer based in India and was using the PubCenter within the US to deliver ads. How do I transfer that account to India?

A: Developers will need to create a new publisher account. Here are the steps to make that change:

    1. Create a new Pubcenter publisher account using a new Windows Live ID and select your country and the currency in which you wish to get paid.  (It is important to create a brand new publisher account, and not just a new account under the same publisher name.)

    2. Complete all required fields for your account that are located under the pubCenter account information payment tab.  (As a developer outside of the United States, it is especially important to complete the international address section and go through all steps to the final submit button.  If you do not complete all steps in the W8 process, then there will be a delay with your payment.)

    3. Within your new account, create a new ad unit.

    4. Update the ad-supported application you have published in the Windows Phone Marketplace with the new ad unit ID.

    5. Submit the updated apps to Windows Phone Marketplace via AppHub.

If you have further questions, please contact psupport@microsoft.com. We are happy to help.

  • Can you even confirm that South-Africa will be in the list of supported countries in the future. There is a very active market in SA and I see more and more people walking around with WP7 devices. It would be a big mistake to just cut this market out especially with the Nokia WP7 devices as Nokia has a HUGE following in South-Africa.
