Microsoft Unveils First Ever Multi-Product Christmas Advertising Campaign

Microsoft Unveils First Ever Multi-Product Christmas Advertising Campaign

  • Comments 2

Did you watch The Gadget Show last night? If you did, you’ll probably have seen the first UK showing of the TV advert from our new global campaign, which showcases Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox for Kinect and Office within a real-life family scenario. The campaign, led by US ad agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky, includes activity across TV, digital and search and is rolling out globally across 35 countries including US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The idea of the campaign is to demonstrate the connectivity of Microsoft’s suite of products and their integration into consumers’ everyday lives. There’s some serious dad-dancing action thanks to the Kinect game Dance Central 2, which is then mercilessly captured and shared by the dad’s loving children using a combination of Windows Phone, Windows Live Movie Maker, Windows PC and SkyDrive. Check out the full ad here.

This is a world first: for the first time a Microsoft campaign is advertising multiple products alongside each other. With this campaign, and following the huge success of this year’s product launches such as Xbox Kinect and Windows Phone, we were keen to show how Microsoft’s distinct consumer brands can combine to create a single user experience. Customers have always been the unifying force behind all of our campaigns, and this time around we wanted to capitalise on the strength of our individual brands by showing how Microsoft products are being used in connection with each other in everyday life.

We want to help consumers understand how to get the most out of their technology. We are focused on creating technology that makes special moments possible, and even makes life easier. Not only is the technology there today, working together to help people stay connected, but people are growing to expect it.

Heading into the Christmas buying season (oh yes – it’s that time of year already!) is the perfect time for us to amplify these messages with consumers. The new campaign shows that Microsoft truly makes technology relevant to everyone – take a look, and let us know what you think!

Regards,

Paul Davies - Microsoft UK

  • Very cool. The busiest consumer shopping season is just around the corner and it's important to utilize platforms in which you can advertise and maximize sales during the holiday season.

  • Very interesting strategy. This could help even the programmers who create integrated software.
