This question is not answered

After spending a couple of hours creating a feed for Bing shopping and later waiting over 10 days for response, I get this email:

Hello,

 

We appreciate your interest in the Bing™ Shopping program, but we regret to inform you that we will be unable to include you in the program.   

 

 

Bing Shopping Review Team

 

That is it. Nothing else. No explanation. I can't see any reason for this. I have also emailed them using their contact form but haven't heard anything. Would anyone be able to help me with this.

    It seems as if you have an unencrypted checkout system. The entire checkout procedure must be encrypted or we will be unable to Onboard you.

    Please let me know if you encrypt your checkout and I will have it re-reviewed.

    I did get a response from them. The checkout is encrypted. It is a PA-DSS v1.2 compliant asp.net site. I don't see how this is a problem. I also have a GEOTRUST certificate.

    You can also go to the site and add something to the cart and checkout to see the certificate information.

    Here is what I found. My chat link image wasn't using ssl and it would have IE complain that some data isn't encrypted. I just changed the image to use ssl.

    The changes that were made were enough to enable the account. You are now able to upload a feed. Let me know once a feed file has been uploaded (by sending me a conversation message, or replying to this thread), and I will validate it.

    I do not see any files in your FTP folder. Can you please try to re-upload the file, then tell me what the "RecentUploads.txt" file in your FTP folder shows after you upload the feed?

    I uploaded a few files. One without the ".txt" extension and one with it. I also uploaded one named "bingshopping" From reading the readme.txt, it seems that this is what it should be called.

  • The feed passed validation with no issues, and your account is now fully activated :)

    Please allow 7-14 days for your products to begin to show on the live site. Also, it is no longer necessary to us know when you have uploaded a new feed file, you must simply upload a new feed file at least once every 30 days. The feed file named "BingShopping.txt" was the one I validated; the one that is missing the .txt would not open, so just upload the "BingShopping.txt" file from now on.

  • Justin, I just received an email stating that we to were not accepted into the Bing Program.  There was no explanation why, just stated:

    Why were we denied acceptance into your shopping program?  We are a worldwide enterprise partner with Amazon, we sell worldwide on Ebay, as well as we have warehouses in the US (Tampa, Chicago, and Portland, Or) as well as Toronto, Canada and Krefeld Germany.  We are the worldwide distributor over over 5,000 travel related films on DVD and digitally, as such I am confused as to why we would not be accepted into your program.  We hold excellent customer reviews on both Ebay and Amazon, and have been in business since 2003 and our site is PCI compliant.

  • Hello Don,

    When your website was originally checked for several factors that would enable inclusion in the program (encrypted checkout, located within the United States, etc), the website was not accessible and we could not verify these factors.

    I have checked your site multiple times today and while I did get a time-out error once, the website seems fully operational otherwise so the account is now ready to be set up. Please go to your adCenter account, to Tools -> Bing Shopping Account Management, and follow the red instructions at the top of each page. Let me know (by either sending a conversation message or replying to this post) once this has been done and I will enable the account for FTP uploads.
