What is the best ad format?
Microsoft pubCenter allows you to select from 12 different ad formats. You will have to pick the format that works best on your web property, and to help you make that choice here are a few best practices to consider:

-ad formats that are wider usually outperform narrower ad formats,

-ad formats should fit with your page layout,

-large ad formats are often favored by advertisers.

When designing your web property try to incorporate a larger ad unit into the page design. Wider ad units can be good for your site visitors and popular with advertisers.  A wider ad unit is easier for people to read, since it requires fewer line breaks and advertisers can use the additional space to communicate their message.

Currently pubCenter provides the following types of ad formats.

300 x 250 (Med. Rectangle)

250 x 250 (Sq. Pop-Up)

180 x 150 (Rectangle)

468 x 60 (Full Banner)

234 x 60 (Half Banner)

120 x 240 (Vertical Banner)

125 x 125 (Sq. Button)

728 x 90 (Leaderboard)

160 x 600 (Wide Skyscraper)

120 x 600 (Skyscraper)

240 x 400 (Vertical Rectangle)

600 x 250 (Wide Rectangle)

The best ad format will vary for everyone.  Test different ad units by setting up a channel and running a report to test their performance.
