In the last of our video interviews on Social Media in the mainstream, we chat to Will Carling.
The former England rugby captain is a prolific Tweeter, often giving running commentary on international games.
He also runs RuckU.com – a social networking site devoted to news and banter about the game which connects armchair enthusiasts and current/past players from all over the world in a virtual clubhouse.
The previous two spots with Andrew Sampson from SamFry and Ben Chapman from BBC Radio 1 covered how they approach large, loyal audiences and create compelling experiences that engage and keep fans coming back.
In 14 minutes with Will we cover:
- How he got into Twitter & why
- How RuckU.com came about and why it’s different from mainstream media
- Tips to engage a community with different tactics and keep it “as is”
- PR for celebrities now versus the early 90s
- Further insight into the UnTied Artists Network
- Will’s thoughts on what he’d like to see technology provide in the future
Fascinating stuff!
More next year…..
Thanks
Mel
