Real Estate SEM Advertising Tips, Tools and Downloadable Keyword and Ad Lists

posted Thu, May 20 2010

Although there are no clear indicators that this year's home-buying season will be anything like years past due to these uncertain economic times, it's still not a bad idea to make sure your real estate PPC campaigns are optimized and ready for those that are in the market for a new home.  Activity in the real estate market can vary greatly depending on location, so you may want to review Kyle Getz's post, Market vs. Geo-Targeting: How to Reach the Correct Audience in Microsoft adCenter to be sure you're getting your ads in front of the eyeballs that matter.

Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to managing online advertising in the real estate space, your first step is to be sure your campaign is tuned up and optimized as soon as possible.  If you'd like to build out your keywords and ads, you may benefit from taking a look at this list of generic sample real estate ads and keywords.  Clicking on this link will bring you to a download-able Excel doc that you can leverage for creating new real estate campaigns or expanding existing ones.  (NOTE: This downloadable information is intended to be used as a general guide and should not be implemented without checking for relevancy to your web site's landing pages and after ensuring sufficient specificity to your campaigns' goals. Failure to do so could result in editorial disapprovals and/or a poor experience for both you and your potential customers).

In addiiton to implementing whichever keywords and ads are relevant to your own campaigns, you can also discover new keywords using Microsoft Advertising Intelligence, a free add-in that works with Excel 2007 to help you optimize your search campaigns.  Once you have it installed, be sure to review Eric Duerr's post on monetizing keywords with Microsoft Advertising Intelligence.
