Bing on 2010: Health, Fitness and What They Mean for Microsoft adCenter Advertisers

posted Mon, Jan 18 2010

Health care is a hot topic nowadays, both in the news and in people’s every day lives as they begin working fitness-related New Year’s resolutions into their daily routines.  From quitting smoking to losing weight, the first few months of every new year see the highest volume of search queries on health and fitness terms.  It’s not all that surprising when you consider half of the top ten New Year’s resolutions are related to health, making this season crucial for health marketing.1

If you haven’t seen it yet, Microsoft is running this Bing TV commercial throughout the season in an effort to drive new health care information seekers to Bing, which means more eyeballs will see your health, fitness and weight loss adCenter ads. With Bing’s continued growth in query share (up 1.9 points since before the Bing launch), Bing should be a key player in your post-New Year’s advertising mix.Looking at the graph below, it’s not hard to see why it’s important to keep your health and fitness-related campaigns firing on all cylinders.

If you’re the do-it-yourself type, you may want to consider expanding your keyword list with Microsoft Advertising Intelligence, a free keyword research and monetization tool.  Alternately, you can also download and review our weight loss and fitness keyword suggestion list for terms that may be applicable to your campaigns.

NOTE: Downloadable keyword lists are not intended to be used “as is”. Before adding them to your campaigns, you must review them for relevancy to your products and services.  Failure to do so could result in editorial disapprovals, a poor user experience for searchers who click on your ad and don’t find what they’re looking for, or both.
