Our latest adCenter release has a design update that we think you'll find especially helpful. We've taken our context-sensitive "pop-up" help to the next level, with answers and information designed to move you quickly through your essential tasks—plus links to troubleshooting, support, and deeper answers from peers and experts in the adCenter community and blogosphere.
Why pop-ups? You and many other advertisers have told us you're busy building your business. You just want to create an ad, do a little research, add keywords, check on your campaign performance. Get in and get out. You don't want the distraction of searching for a solution; you want it right there at your fingertips, and you want it right now.
Let's say you're building a list of new keywords to add to one of your ad groups. You come to the Pricing page and discover that you need to set a default bid—but what does that mean, exactly? To find out, you simply click the question mark
icon next to Default bid (max. CPC), and up comes your answer:
The pop-up content explores the idea behind default bids, and that may be enough information to help you decide how to proceed. If you'd like a nudge in the right direction, though, click the
link:
A few quick steps here will guide you through the task. And if you want yet more information or background, you might try clicking the Visit the community, Related information, or Support links. As you can see, we've tried to make it really easy.
In some instances, pop-ups supply key information that's there just to help you deepen your understanding of adCenter.
For example, suppose you decide to check on your account status (Accounts & Billing tab). In my example the account status is shown as Active, but maybe you're wondering what account status is all about. Again, you click the question mark
icon to find out.
Not enough information in the first window? Click the
link, and learn about all of the account statuses.
What if your account status is, say, Paused, and you don't know why or what to do about it? Try clicking the Troubleshooting link:
And, again, if this information doesn't work for you, you can always contact our Support team:
Here's something else that's new about our pop-ups: They don't just vanish into thin air when you click elsewhere. We've designed them to stay open until you no longer need them—that is, they close when you click the
button at the top, open another pop-up, or navigate to another adCenter page.
There you have it. The updated pop-ups give you immediate assistance, help you focus on getting your adCenter tasks done quickly, and keep plenty of background information just a click away.
And one last thing: How do you like the pop-ups? What works and what doesn't? Where else would you like to see them? Your comments and suggestions can help us improve the pop-ups, so we invite you to tell us what's on your mind. Please leave your comments in the box below or visit our community forum.
