Several new and improved Bing features announced earlier this month are now 100% live in the U.S., and include adCenter ads in their results pages – this is your opportunity to get your ads in front of your audience as they check out the latest with Bing. For more details on these features please check out the Bing Blog – here are a couple highlights.
Bing Mobile
A re-designed Bing app for Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and BREW (Verizon) devices is optimized for local searches, maps, and directions. The most visible new feature is the home page, which will display the Bing daily image. Users will also see Recent Searches, Favorites, and tips right on the home screen. (This new version will be U.S.-only; we will add versions of the app for other markets as it becomes available.)
You can also use the Bing for mobile browser on any web-enabled phone at m.bing.com, which includes:
· Improved location detection
· Reduce typing with Autosuggest
· New Instant Answers for NFL and college football – players, teams, and schedules
· Option to link to Bing.com desktop site
· Improved navigation on high-resolution devices
Search ads for mobile are available through adCenter by creating a mobile-specific campaign.
Shopping
Shopping changes include new answer types for the search engine results pages: brand, product line, reviews and specs, as well as increased selection with the addition of eBay and Ciao U.S. products. Watch for improved user experience browse/discover and refinement enhancements.
Travel
Bing Travel changes will include incorporating the left-rail across all pages of the site and integrating Travel search history into the standard search history module. We’re also adding:
· Travel Instant Answers. These will enable users to more easily find flight and hotel information.
· Travel Slideshows. Former MSN Travel slideshows and article pages have been integrated into Bing and are accessible via distinct search queries.
