If you're not already familiar with the adCenter DesktopBeta. it's a time-saving tool that lets you create and manage your adCenter PPC campaigns, get performance alerts and research keywords, all from an easy-to-use Microsoft Office-like interface.
Performance Improvements
Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to share your feedback with us, we depend on your comments to help improve adCenter with each release. We've heard you loud and clear and so with this release our priority was performance improvement. Check it out and let us know what you think:
Error Messages - error messages will be more descriptive, enabling users to quickly identify and remedy any issues that occur.
Progress Bar - the Progress Bar is a new addition to the adCenter Desktop that will accurately indicate how much of the upload or download has been completed.
Stop Button - improvements have been made in how quickly an upload will be canceled once the "Stop" button is clicked and the request has been confirmed in the "Stop Upload" dialog box.
New Feature: Content Ads Site Exclusions (US Only)
With the adCenter DesktopBeta Fall 2009 Upgrade comes the ability to exclude certain content network sites from displaying your Content Ads, a feature that has been available in the adCenter web UI since the Spring release, but not available in the adCenter DesktopBeta until now.
Site exclusions can be set at the campaign or ad group levels through either right clicking on a campaign or ad group in the "Browser" pane and selecting "Properties" or else by clicking the "Exclusions" button in the "Editor" pane.
Installation Notes
The first time you access the adCenter DesktopBeta, you will be prompted to download a new version of the tool. This new version will replace the installed version of the software, as well as all local data. To avoid any data loss, follow these instructions prior to downloading the new version:
-- Upload all changes made within the adCenter DesktopBeta to your online adCenter account prior to upgrading (recommended).
Or
-- If you are not ready to upload your data, you may export your current account data to Microsoft Office Excel 2003. From the adCenter DesktopBeta home page, click Export, then select Export to adCenter format (.csv). Then, after completing the download and install of the new version, import this file into adCenter Desktop.
