adCenter Spring 2009 Upgrade: adCenter Desktop (Beta) Updates

posted Mon, May 18 2009

As part of the adCenter Spring Upgrade, the adCenter Desktop (Beta) has been updated with several features, many based on feedback from our beta customers. Here are some of the changes you can expect to see.

Improved Performance

  • Now you can manage larger amounts of data (more than 100,000 keywords) in each of your accounts, as well as upload or download specific accounts (rather than all accounts at once).
  • You should notice faster upload and download speeds for large accounts, and you can work on one account while another is uploading or downloading.

Updating Ads

  • The addition of an ad ID column in your bulk data sheet lets you quickly update existing ads in bulk by exporting them, editing them, and then importing them back into adCenter Desktop (Beta).
  • You can now update bids at the ad group level in addition to the keyword level, making it easy to apply changes on a broader level

Browse and Edit

Quickly edit items as you browse; the items you select in the Browser pane (like campaigns and ad groups) are displayed as selected in the Manager and Editor panes.

Preview Your Imported Data

You can now preview your changes before submitting. There's also a new Preview Changes step in the import and power post process that lets you view additions and changes before the process is complete.

Target Customers by City and State

Now you can set city and state targeting for multiple campaigns and ad groups. (Previously this option was available only in adCenter online.)

Note for those of you in the U.K., Canada, and France: after you complete the adCenter Desktop (Beta) upgrade, check out Adam's blog post, UK, CA & FR Advertisers - Download adCenter Desktop Beta & Set Your Defaults, for instructions on how to set your targeting options for your distribution market.

Be sure to check out new features being released in adCenter online as well: Campaign Management Updates, Account Management Updates and Content Ads Updates (U.S. Only).

Can you use it with Windows Vista 64 yet?  That is the one feature we desperately need as almost all new systems are shipped with 64 bit OS installed.

    Hi Harris,

I just got confirmation from the Desktop team that the it's now compatible with 64-bit computers.

    Thanks,

    Carolyn

Thank you.  After reading your reply I downloaded and installed it and it is working great on my Vista 64 computer.
