adCenter has a convenient “import campaigns” function which can be used to import downloads from Google adWords or Yahoo!
Using this function will import the structure of your campaigns i.e. the campaign, their respective ad groups, keywords and ads into adCenter.
This creates a “shell” if you like for the advertiser then to populate with the detail before setting live. This provides a substantial head start when trying to replicate campaigns in adCenter.
After using this import campaigns function, you can then populate the remaining variables which include the budget amount, bids, destination urls, negative keywords and targeting.
Once this process has been completed the advertiser has a point to work from that did not take too much effort. The campaigns can be monitored and fine tuned to the Live Search audience. Verticals that run best on Live Search can then be expanded upon too.
Follow the three steps below to import a campaign:
Step 1 - Choose Your Account and Import the Sheet
In adCenter click on the campaigns tab and choose the account you wish to import your sheet to.
Then click import campaigns. This will bring up an extended options list.
Now select your language and market and secondly select the appropriate time zone.
Then click on “Import file” and locate and open your sheet. (Remember that in order to locate the import sheet it must be saved in csv format.)
A prompt will be given to notify the success of the import.
Your campaigns will not go live immediately. All ad groups are set to draft. They won’t be active until they are manually submitted. This is to allow time for the remaining variables to be populated, i.e. negative keywords, bids, URLs and targeting.
Step 2 - Make Amendments
adCenter will default the campaign budget type to divide across the month. Ad Group start dates will default to the day of the import and no end date will be set.
As mentioned above, no destination URLs, bids, negative keywords and targeting would have been imported. These values can now be populated.
Step 3 - Submit Ad Groups
After all modifications have been made, your campaign or campaigns are now ready to go live.
The final step involves submitting all the ad groups.
This can be achieved by clicking into your campaign, then clicking on the box next to each ad group and clicking submit.
TIP: All the ad groups in a campaign can be selected by clicking the box underneath "Pause"
Now the import process is complete and your ads will go live soon!
