Updates to adCenter keyword research tools

posted Wed, Aug 20 2008

As a part of our latest update to adCenter, we released a fully redesigned keyword research tool to help you more efficiently find keywords and plan campaigns in adCenter. This new resource complements the Microsoft adCenter Add-inBeta for Excel by providing access to the same deep audience insights directly in the adCenter Research tab.

I'd like to describe a few of the features that we hope will make it easy for you to find new keywords and add them to your adCenter campaigns.

Getting Started

1. Click the Research tab

2. Enter a Keyword or Website URL from which you would like to start your keyword search

Suggested Keywords

Our new suggested keywords results feature enhanced insights into average ad click-through-rate (CTR) and average cost-per-click (CPC) to help you select valuable keywords that can drive traffic and ROI to your business.

Additionally, you can export all data easily to Microsoft Excel for further analysis and research using the adCenter Add-in.

Add Keywords to an Ad Group

The keyword collection provides you with the ability to collect a set of keywords and add them to an ad group:

1. Add keywords from the ‘Suggested Keywords’ results to your Keyword Collection

2. Under Select an ad group, select the account, campaign, and ad group that you want to add your keyword collection to, and then click Add to ad group.

The keywords that you add are set to broad match with the default bid. You can make further adjustments by going to the ad group page in Campaign Management.

Audience Insights

Ever wanted to know more about the search audience? The Audience Insights graphs show age, gender, geographic, and search volume statistics for keywords in your collection to help you better understand the searches and tailor your ad content and landing pages to them.

The development team has worked hard on this release and we hope that you find it useful!

Adcenter's tool is pretty powerful. We've used it on a few paid campaigns in the past. No complaints. We also use Google's kwd research tool and Wordze. Here's a quick and easy, free keyword research and ranking tool we built in-house. Check it out here...
