You meet the nicest folk on Twitter!
In the summer, fresh from our foray at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, I was pinged by Andrew Sampson - @Sampsonian – on the social networking site and asked if I wanted to chat and share stories about our experiences.
What came out of the conversation, among other things, was the promise to have a chat on video about how he approached the much-loved English actor, author and TV presenter - Stephen Fry - and suggest he design a website for him.
The rest, as they say, is history as the site developed further with a forum, his celebrated blog, and then Stephen embarked on gaining pretty much the biggest Twitter following of anyone in the UK.
26 minutes reveals some fascinating nuggets like:
- How Andrew was inspired to set Stephen up.
- How they identified a social media need.
- How to balance content with different audiences.
- When to start monetizing and how to approach it.
- Being responsible with Social Media.
- Building your personal brand online.
- The scoop on the Untied Artists Network!
- How advertisers should think about targeting social media sites.
- Answers to a few of 300 (!) questions we were asked on Twitter.
- What it’s like working with a national treasure!
If you have any other questions then jot down a comment and we’ll try and have Andrew follow up.
Enjoy!
